Across the nation, libraries participate in Community Read, an annual event in which everyone in a town or community are encouraged to read the same book and then participate in discussions about the book and author. In 1995, Jemez Springs Public Library chose two of Scott Momaday’s books, and Scott led the discussion. The Community Read event was part of a year-long celebration of the 50th anniversary of the incorporation of the Village of Jemez Springs. Erica Kane designed this poster, featuring one of Scott’s paintings, to advertise the event.
